Chemistry - high school and college level classes. (For college courses, I only address topics in Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry, College Chem I, and College Chem II.)
Over 30 years as a high school instructor and 12 years as a college adjunct both on-campus and online.
I believe in adapting my teaching style to each student's learning style. I use a variety of techniques and resources to help make Chemistry understandable to each student.
Private (one-on-one) sessions, Small Group for 2-4 students, and Chem Talks which are large group sessions featuring an important topic in Chemistry.
You can send an email from the CONTACT page to request a special time. Please list several options and I will try to work something out for you. Try not to wait until the last minute to book because the time you need may be unavailable.
Each student can receive a copy of the white board notes that I produce during our session.
Later, I may develop a special notebook packet that would be available on Amazon. I will provide information when it becomes available.
You may be from different classes but not from different courses. The group must be studying the same topic or we would not be able to accomplish very much.
No. You must know the other people in your group to make sure everyone is studying the same topic.
There is an information bar at the top of each EAS webpage listing the date and topic of the next Chem Talk.
Yes. Go to the CONTACT Page. Send an email stating your topic(s) and when you would like to see them added to Chem Talks. I'll try to add them on the schedule.
All sessions will be booked online.
Please click the SCHEDULING tab at the top of this page to schedule a session.
--You should pay right after you book your session. If payment is not received your session or seat will be cancelled.
Yes. Parents are always welcome to be in the room with you but they should not participate during the session itself. The student and parents are the only ones who should be in the room. To be successful, we need as few distractions as possible. No TV, Pets, Music, Phone, or Friends, etc.
Refunds are given to students who have paid and then cancel at least 24 hrs before a session begins. Think of this like a move or sports ticket, you buy your ticket in advance and rarely get a refund.
Make sure your equipment is in working order BEFORE trying to join a session. It is not the best situation for tutoring, but you have the option of joining on your phone or tablet.
No. The materials are for your personal study only. The rights to any and all materials produced by the Tutor/Host or provided by Enhanced Academic Services, belong to the Tutor/Host and EAS.
